Discover a new dimension to keeping fit with climbing at Sport & Fitness. The 10m climbing wall is elevated above reception and is perfect for beginners or experienced climbers. It has 30+ routes from 3 – 6c which are regularly changed by our climbing expert, so you can always find a new challenge to overcome.
Climbing is a great opportunity to develop new skills, stamina and strength as well as discover a new way to have fun.
Please note that non-members will need to visit reception if booking climbing for the first time to set up a new account.
These 1 hour sessions are aimed at those who have never climbed before, giving you the opportunity to get kitted up and start climbing under the supervision of a qualified instructor.
Advancing from the taster session, this 2 hour session will teach you the basics of tying a climbing rope, belaying and give you the opportunity to climb different routes. Small class size of 4 learners to 1 instructor will ensure you can learn at your pace.
For those who have attended a climbing induction and wish to be signed off as a competent climber. This 1 hour session will give you the opportunity to practice the skills you’ve learnt under the guidance of our instructors. Once signed off, you will be eligible to attend Pay & Go climbing sessions.
The intermediate climbing course is for those who already have the basic skills for indoor climbing. You must be able to demonstrate that you can fit a harness correctly, tie-in with a figure of eight knot and correctly use a belay device.
During this course you will learn efficient climbing movement techniques, gain an understanding of the different hold types and their use and how to ‘read’ a route, as well as building confidence and stamina.
The course lasts 3 weeks and each session takes 2 hours, you must be able to attend all sessions and cannot attend part way through the course.

If you’re an experienced climber, we offer Pay & Go Climb sessions so you can take to the wall and build your own workout. As climbing uses up to 80% of your muscle groups, every session will leave you feeling stronger and inspired to take on the next route.
Geo has over 30 years of experience in climbing and coaching. He competed for 15 years in indoor competitions and spent days on the big walls of Yosemite Valley, one of the most famous and awe inspiring climbing locations in the world.
