The Birmingham Lions are a five-time national championship winning American Football programme whose players range from Great Britain internationals to those who have never played the game before. The team last lifted the trophy in 2016, and will be hoping to do so again in the upcoming season. The team and coaches pride themselves on their ability to take players with no prior American Football experience and transform them into elite level athletes, many of whom proceed to play at an international level.

Alongside the University team, the Lions programme also boasts Youth and Junior teams, a Women’s team and a Flag Football team. All four of these teams are in the mix annually for their respective national titles, with the Women’s easily taking home the trophy this season.
