Cheerleading

University of Birmingham Cheerleading club, known as the Birmingham Pussycats, contains five main competing squads (All Girl Level 3, Pom, Hip Hop, Jazz and Group Stunt Level 2) that compete during the second term, as well as a performance team who perform at a variety of sports events and open days around campus.

The club’s training kicks off for xpLosION, an annual American Football event on campus which happens in November in front of 3000+ spectators – it is a fantastic way to bring the team together and it is an amazing experience! Being a part of the Cheerleading Club means being part of a close cheer family and having an opportunity to make lifelong friends. It’s a great way to throw yourself into university life, to keep yourself busy, fit, and to learn a whole new set of skills.

No cheer experience necessary, everybody is welcome. Just come and give cheer a go at try-outs in Freshers week.
