Fencing Competition 2012
Fencing BUCS Championships 2012University of Birmingham Sport Fencing club compete in the BUCS Championships 2012
At UoB Fencing we cater to people of all abilities, from our beginners group where our coaches go through the basics and introduce each new weapon at a steady pace, to our advanced group where our more experienced fencers have the opportunity for 1 on 1 training with one of the coaches. We’re a very friendly club, we do a variety of different events throughout the year aiming to create strong bonds with our team mates to make training more enjoyable. We also have close links with Birmingham Fencing club whom we share one of our training sessions with.
We offer all 3 weapons for training and competitions and all kit is supplied by the club, unless you prefer to bring your own. Currently we have 1 Womens team who are currently in Midlands 1A, as well as 2 Mens teams: Mens 1st is currently in Midlands 1A, our development team Mens 2nd is currently in Midlands 2B. From September all of our training will be done in the brand new sports facilities on campus, giving us the space we need to grow and develop as a club. We’re always eager to teach new people and everyone involved in coaching is extremely welcoming to Fencers of all abilities so whether you’re an experienced Fencer or you’ve never held a sword in your life there’s a place for you at UoB Fencing.

Sport & Fitness
Many of our members who started this year have said one of their big highlights from fencing came about halfway through the first term when they realised that they had actually made some really good friends from training. We aim to be a club whose members come to training sessions not only to exercise and improve their skills but also because it’s a place that they enjoy being at.
Level of competition/participation:
