University of Birmingham Men’s Cricket Club is a sociable and inclusive club, with three BUCS team who train on Wednesdays at the Edgbaston Indoor Cricket Centre.
All three teams train Wednesday afternoon 3-5. Our training involves 90 minutes of nets and then 30 minutes of fielding, organised by our Performance Manager and coaches at Edgabston. The club enters an indoor team into the national competition, where we came third last year. Throughout the year we have social events as well as a cricket week, which provides an opportunity for everyone to play a couple of pre-season fixtures as well as a day of training as a club. We also have a 6-a-side football team who play every Friday 1-2 in Campus League.
How to get involved
Taster session and/or trial information will be available soon. The membership fees are BUCS (£150 which gets reduced in Term 2 and Term 3), Social (£70 which gets reduced in Term 2).
Please note that on top of the club fee there is a £16 fee that covers personal accident insurance when training or competing for the University, access to free cross-training sessions such as circuits and yoga, as well as a contribution to the costs of affiliation to various national governing bodies. This fee is only payable once so if you did decide to join a second club then you would not need to pay a second fee.
