You clearly have a good taste in sport in you have found your way to this page. Tennis is one of the worlds most established and respected sports and we want you to be a part of it. The University of Birmingham Tennis club caters for all abilities from complete beginners to high level accomplished players. We run a development programme for those new to tennis and then players can progress through a performance programme as their skills improve. Also our tennis team has been very successful and we hope to continue to move up the league tables through hard work and commitment. We are also trying to increase our membership numbers by running fun and fitness touch tennis sessions and by encouraging people new to tennis to get involved. Whether you are a beginner just wanting a taster session or an elite player wanting a challenge we can cater for you. How to get involved

The membership fee is BUCS (£130) and Tennis development & performance (£100 which reduces to £70 in Term 2). Taster session and/or trial information will be available soon.

Training times & venues

Women’s Team:

Sunday: 16:00-18:00

Mens Team:

Sunday: 18:00-20:00

Team Matchplay Training:

Wednesday: 18:00-21:00

Performance and Development:

Sunday: 12:00-16:00 (4, 1 hour varied ability sessions)

All training currently takes place at Edgbaston Priory Club, B15 2UZ.

Signing up for university tennis will be the highlight of your year!

Level of competition/participation:

Mens 1st- BUCS 2A Womens 1st- 1A

Mens 2nd-BUCS 2B Womens 2nd – 2A

Performance and Development squad – University Team Challenge is a team competition designed to encourage beginner and social players (i.e. non BUCS players) to represent their university in a fun, social and relaxed environment against local teams.
