The University of Birmingham have 5 teams (3 mens, 2 womens) in the British Universities and College Sport (BUCS) competitions. Alongside the team, we offer players the chance to participate in development and performance tennis sessions. These sessions are run by a team member and provide coaching to players of all abilities as well as providing an opportunity to socialise and enjoy tennis. We have 4 different sessions so there will be a session that’s right for you and your current level. These sessions are designed to help everyone improve their tennis skills as well as learn new ones. We are also a very sociable club, with socials happening on weekly basis throughout term time, organised by our social secs.
How to get involved
The membership fee is BUCS (£140) and Tennis Development and Performance (£100 which reduces to £60 in Term 2). Taster session and/or trial information will be available soon on the UoB Tennis Facebook Page and at the Sports Fair on the 28th September 2018.
Please note that on top of the club fee there is a £16 fee that covers personal accident insurance when training or competing for the University, access to free cross-training sessions such as circuits and yoga, as well as a contribution to the costs of affiliation to various national governing bodies. This fee is only payable once so if you did decide to join a second club then you would not need to pay a second fee.
