Molly Patch: UoB Cycling Sensation!

Second year History of Art student, Molly Patch, recently represented UoB at the BUCS Time-Trial Cycling Event. She performed exceptionally well claiming Gold in both the individual 10-mile and 25-mile events – as well as team Gold in the 10-mile event!

In the 10-mile time-trial she was 13 seconds clear of the rest of the field, setting a new course record. Molly then went on to set another course record in the 25-mile event in 54.20 – defending her BUCS 25-mile TT title! Scholar Hannah Payton also competed at this event and achieved Bronze in the 10-mile event, helping the girls to secure the team Gold overall.

This isn’t Molly’s first taste of BUCS success: at the indoor track events before Christmas she won 2 medals (1 individual and 1 team), and she will be participating the BUCS Road Race this weekend and is aiming for an equally impressive result. Molly seems to be well on her way to becoming the most decorated BUCS Cycling scholar by the end of the academic year! Keep an eye on Molly’s news on Twitter.
