The Women’s Football 2s continued their unbeaten season this week, winning their away fixture against firm rivals Loughborough. Coach Tash Buckland masterminded a disciplined performance encouraging the girls to play with great team spirit and determination in order to secure their win.
Birmingham went 1-0 up before half-time, with Aimee Taylor converting a brilliant solo effort up front. Striker Hannah Vincent scored twice in the second half, with one goal the result of a penalty! Birmingham dominated the whole game, scoring two more spectacular goals in the second half. They were unlucky to come away without a clean scoresheet, with the final score being 5-3. Hannah Vincent was awarded the player of the match after her excellent efforts up front.
It was a gritty display from the team with the girls playing comfortably and showing strong character on the pitch. It is looking to be a very successful season for the Women’s 2s with each performance showing further improvement and promise.
