Half marathon tickets are now available to purchase, where you will get a discounted #TeamUoB t-shirt with your entry!

Join students, staff, alumni, and the wider UoB community as part of #TeamUoB at The Great Birmingham Run on Sunday 5 May 2024. The 10k and Half Marathon events will take place on the same day, so whatever your race, and whatever your pace, join in the fun with #TeamUoB!

Whilst we can no longer offer representation of your College/School on your #TeamUoB t-shirt, you can still have your time contribute to your College’s total in our brand new UoB Inter-College competition.

Couch to 5k

New to running, or not sure how to get started? With the Couch to 5k, you can start with short bursts of walking and jogging to gradually build up your stamina!

Team Challenge

We will once again be entering the Team Challenge, teams (male, female or mixed) can be made up of a minimum of 4 runners, with as many teams being submitted to represent University of Birmingham as we wish. Training Ideas and Opportunities

Green Heart Runners

Based on campus and want to get some training runs in? Why not join the Green Heart Runners. With runs ranging from 5k upwards and all starting in the Green Heart, sessions are suitable for all abilities. The group meet on a Tuesday evening at 5.30pm. Get in touch to find out more.

Training Plans

Great Run have put together a selection of training plans to help you prepare and get the most out of your event day experience. Ranging from 6 to 16 weeks, the plans are designed to get you start line ready.
