Low Impact Fitness Classes and Walking Sport Sessions

Active Club Christmas Party

Bring Christmas hats or jumpers and festive vibes for:

 

Badminton 10.00am – 12.00pm

Walking Football 10.00am – 11.00am

Of course, we will be heading to Costa for a coffee and catch up afterwards to celebrate all the efforts that have been put into your sporting endeavours this year.

Timetable

Gentle exercise and low impact sessions, tailored to suit all levels of fitness, our Active Club sessions are perfect for older adults looking to get active in a sociable and supportive environment. 

Christmas Break

Our Active Club lessons will be taking a short break over the Christmas period. Please note the last sessions for each class, and also the date of return.

Please be aware that there are a few changes to the locations and times of the Badminton and Football sessions throughout January due to student examinations.

Walking Sport Sessions

To find your Active Club classes online, click onto ‘Make a Booking’, then select the Activity Type detailed on the classes above (e.g ‘AQUA’).

Equipment

All equipment is provided, please wear appropriate clothing for each session. 

 

Locker bands must be used for aqua classes and they can be hired/purchased from reception for £5. 

 

All sessions are accessible for those with limited mobility or accessibility needs. If you would like to discuss your personal requirements with us, please contact us on [email protected].

How to book

Members

If your community / staff / alumni or over-65s membership includes classes, this means you also get Active Club sessions for free. You can book these online or via the UB Sport & Fitness app. 

Pay & Go

If classes are not included in your membership, or you don’t have a membership with us but would like to attend any of our Active Club sessions, you can do so with Pay & Go. Sessions are £4 each.

 

If you already have an account with us, skip to the booking information below. If you do not have an account with us, you’ll need to create one before you can book and pay for classes.  

Booking a sport session

  1. Login using your email address and PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN, just click the ‘Forgotten your PIN?’ link on the login page and it will be emailed to you.
  2. Click ‘Make a Booking’ from the menu
  3. Click ‘Active Club’ from the menu
  4. Choose your session 
  5. You can check your bookings in the ‘Manage Bookings’ section in the main menu. This is also where you can cancel your session up to two-hours before if you’re no longer able to attend.

Booking a class

  2. Click ‘Make a Booking’ from the menu
  3. Click ‘Classes’ activity type from the menu
  4. Choose your class

Parking

Car parking is free for active club members with a booking. The multi-storey car park is adjacent to the Sport & Fitness club, and the entrance is on Edgbaston Park Road, opposite Lloyds Bank. Car parking charges apply to those without a booking.

 

There is a free secure area to park bicycles outside the front door.
