Summer Camp
We run two different types of ‘weeks’ for residents’ offering activities such as canoeing, mountain walking, and problem-solving tasks to help individuals work together as a team.
- Family Weeks include activities led by our expert staff with the option for self-led elements tailored for beginner or advanced.
- Friends Weeks include activities led by our visiting residents, with our staff providing safety cover on and around the Lake. There is an expectation that groups are competent for self-led sessions on all
Bookings
Our week-long camps are open to current and former University staff, students and alumni.
Bookings are usually in very high demand and are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. Each camp has a limited number of spaces requiring a first and second choice of weeks. Booking confirmation will be sent out four weeks after bookings open with a link to pay your deposit to confirm your place.
We will also be trialling a Friends Light Camp on 1 September (four nights). Camp information can be requested by emailing us.

How to book
- Submit an online booking form to secure your place. Forms can be requested by emailing us. Each person attending (aged over five years) must also pay a membership/registration fee of £10.00.
- After processing your form, a payment page link will be emailed to the booker to make the deposit payment online. This must be done within seven days to confirm your booking, after which your booking may be reallocated.
- Bookings will ONLY be confirmed once a confirmation/invoice has been sent out and after the full deposit has been received.
- Selected weeks/accommodation are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. If we are unable to allocate your first choice, we will allocate your second choice. If neither are available, we will contact you as soon as possible with your options. There is also the option to be added to our waiting list at your request.
- The balance of your booking is due by 30 June 2025 (earlier for May weeks). Reminders for the final balance WILL NOT be sent. Payments can be paid in instalments. If the full payment hasn’t been received, your place will be allocated to our waiting list.
- Bookings are for a full camp and no discounts are given for late arrivals/early departures. No exchanging of people in your booking is allowed and we cannot accept anyone onsite who has not been pre-booked.
