Social Sport Timetable

Festive Casual Sport

Join us for our Festive Casual Sport programme – a mixture of One Day Events and drop-in Social Sport sessions, all with a dash of festive fun! All activities are open to all with all equipment provided.

 

Social Sport sessions are drop-in sport sessions, where you will play casual matches with other players. One Day Events will have a competitive element, with medals up for grabs for the winners. Festive music will be playing and fancy dress welcomed.

 

All sessions can be booked via the Sport and Fitness app under Social Sport – more sessions will be added, so keep an eye on the app for updates.

Social Sport

Social Sport sessions are open to all, including community non-members and are pay as you go, with all equipment provided. Turn up at any point during term and get involved with a range of different sports. Our sessions are designed to give you maximum game time, hosted by a team of activators.

All current Social Sport sessions are available to book on the Sport and Fitness app, under ‘Social Sport’.

 

Social Badminton will run on Tuesdays at 5.00pm until September. Missing Tennis? Try Cardio Tennis, which can be booked under the Classes section of the app.

Try-a-Sport

Try-a-Sport sessions are ideal for those looking to improve skills or learn a new sport. Each course will provide some coaching, as well as an opportunity to put this into practice.

Course Dates (4-week)

Student cost: £20.00 

Staff/Sport & Fitness Member: £25.00

Non-members: £37.50

Prices

Social Sport and Try-a-Sport prices are for one session.

Please note: depending on sport, try-a-sport sessions are either pay-as-you-go, or paid by enrolling onto a course. If you enrol onto a try-a-sport course, you pay for all sessions in the course in one payment. See timetable for information on whether try-a-sport offers are courses or sessions.

How to book

Already have an account with us?

Students and staff at the University automatically have a Sport & Fitness account. To request your PIN, just follow the Forgotten Your PIN?  Simply login, select Make A Booking, then choose the Try A Sport category, and select the session.

New to Sport & Fitness

If you’re new to Sport & Fitness and would like to come to a Social Sport session, please follow these instructions on how to create an account and book.

  1. Login using your email address and PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN, just click the ‘Forgotten your PIN?’ link on the login page and it will be emailed to you.
  2. Click ‘Make a Booking’ from the menu
  3. Click ‘Social Sport’ from the menu
  4. Choose your session 
  5. You can check your bookings in the ‘Manage Bookings’ section in the main menu. This is also where you can cancel your session up to two-hours before if you’re no longer able to attend.
