Join us for a huge number of de-stressing activities during May and June! 

This University Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to bring you some key de-stressing activities and sessions to help you to wind down. 

This exam period, we are hosting a range of classes, meditation, water confidence and social sport sessions for you to attend to help you to de-stress! 

 

All you need to do is simply book via the Sport & Fitness app, or book on arrival at Sport & Fitness reception.

Places are LIMITED, so we encourage you to book in advance, and cancel if you can no longer attend!

Group Exercise Classes

Group Exercise classes are a great way to escape your desk and get involved in physical activity in a fun, social and supportive environment. Whether it’s a relaxing Yoga class to focus your mind on slow and gentle movements, or a super fun high-intensity cardio class to get your heart pumping, we’ve got you covered during De-stresstival.

Guided Meditation and Breathwork Sessions

Both sessions will guide anyone interested through a step-by-step meditation and breathwork experience. No prior experience is required, just an interest and willingness to direct attention inwards.

About the Instructor

Peter has been practicing meditation for the last 15 years, and has particular interest in the techniques Samadhi and Vipassana. In the past, he has attended multiday, silent meditation retreats, as well as living in Monasteries for short periods. Peter is more than willing to help anyone interested in this area, as he understands its strong connection to mental health and overall wellbeing.

Water Confidence Course

Are you looking to gain water confidence? Look no further! The Water Confidence Course is here for complete swimming beginners and those looking to gain confidence in the water by learning the basics! This course is an excellent opportunity for those with no swimming ability, with only 10 places on each course!

Social Sport

Turn up at any point during term and get involved with a range of different sports. Open to all, including community non-members, Social Sport sessions are pay as you go with all equipment provided. Our sessions will give you maximum game time hosted by a team of activators.
