We do not currently have guest passes available. Please keep an eye on your communications and this webpage to find out when our next guest pass period begins!
Sport & Fitness Guest Pass FAQs
As a community or staff member, we are gifting you two complimentary guest passes between Monday 30 March until Sunday 26 April.
If you have a peak inclusive membership, you will receive a total of four complimentary guest passes.
Do I need to create a guest pass account before attending, or can I just turn up?
You should create your guest pass account online before you arrive at Sport & Fitness. For guests without internet access our Reception team can facilitate creation of a guest pass account.
Do guest passes expire? Do guest pass accounts expire?
Guest pass accounts do not expire. Guest passes are credited onto the Sport & Fitness member’s account account, and will expire at the end of each guest pass period, or once used, whichever is sooner.
What facilities can my guests use?
Your guest will be able to use any of the facilities included in your membership, and you must accompany your guest at all times during their visit. You may attend a class with your guest if you have classes included in your membership, however, this cannot be booked in advance so places are subject to availability, please enquire on the day.
Can my guest use the car park?
Yes, your guest can access the car park for free for the duration of their visit.
What are the rules for using guest passes?
- Community and Staff members: Your free guest passes can be used by two different people, or the same person each time
- Student members: Guest passes are available to students at a cost of £5
- You must be present in Sport & Fitness with your guest at all times, and they will only be able to use the facilities which are included in your membership. You will be responsible for ensuring your guest adheres to our Terms & Conditions of Use. Please be aware that re-entry after leaving Sport & Fitness is not allowed
- If you are an off-peak member, you and your guest will only be able to visit during off-peak hours
- You may attend a class with your guest if you have classes included in your membership, however, this cannot be booked in advance so places are subject to availability
- One guest pass is equal to one entry into the facilities. Upon leaving the facilities, your guest pass will have expired.
How do my guests redeem their passes?
New Community Members
If your guest has never been to Sport & Fitness before, please ask them to create an account before they visit the facility, following these steps:
- Complete your personal details
- Select ‘Sign up for membership’
- Select ‘Guest pass account’
- Click ‘next’
- Complete your personal details including address, declare any disabilities and read the Terms & Conditions.
- Complete your account registration
- Read our terms and conditions of use before you visit.
- Â When you arrive at Sport & Fitness, please head to reception with your member to redeem your guest pass. You will be issued a card for entry.
Staff of the University
If your guest(s) are University staff or a student, they can log in via our portal in advance and register as a guest. Using their University of Birmingham email and pin, login and select ‘Guest Pass Account’.

Please ask your guest to bring their University ID card to reception when they visit with you and ensure you and your guest are familiar with the Terms & Conditions of Use before your visit.
Can I purchase more guest passes?
Yes, during the guest pass period, additional guest passes can be purchased from reception.
Community & Staff
- Guest Pass £7.50: Allows access to the same facilities as the member (excludes classes)
- Guest Pass & Class £10.
Student
- Student Guest Pass £5 – Allows access to the same facilities as the member
- Student Pass & Class £7.50.
Junior
- Junior Guest Pass £5 – Access to pool only (swimming ratios apply)
Can I bring a junior as a guest?
Your guest can be an adult or a junior, however, under-18s can only use the pool (swimming ratios apply and please ensure you check the pool timetable before your visit).
- Children aged 2 and under – 1 adult : 1 childÂ
- Children aged 3 to 13 – 1 adult : 2 children
- Children aged 14 and over may swim unsupervised
The Vale Gym Guest Pass FAQs
From Monday 10 November to Sunday 30 November we are offering guest passes to use at The Vale Gym for existing Sport & Fitness Student Gym members.
Who will receive The Vale Gym guest passes?
All Sport & Fitness Student Gym members will be eligible to receive The Vale Gym guest passes. This offer does not apply to Tiverton Gym members.
What facilities can my guests use?
Your guest will be able to use any of the facilities at The Vale Gym, you must accompany your guest at all times during their visit.Â
Can I use my guest pass at Sport & Fitness Gym?
No, free guest passes are only valid at The Vale Gym for a limited period. You are welcome to purchase guest passes for Sport & Fitness gym during the next guest pass period. Please see below for more details.

Guest passes will be automatically credited to your account. Simply bring your guest with you on the day, along with their Student ID card, and a member of staff will sign them in.Â
