Gaelic football

STUDENT CLUB

Gaelic Football is an Irish sport that encompasses a wide range of skills which make it excellent for beginners. It is a fast-paced sport and many of our players learn how to play at University. We have both a men’s and a women’s team, who compete in both leagues and an end of year championship. We also partake in the Birmingham St. Patrick’s Day Parade every year.

We have players from a wide range of backgrounds and we also play a game each year against the Australian Rules team. Both teams compete at a competitive level and we also run many social events throughout the year.

We pride the club on its inclusivity, we divide our resources equally between the men’s and women’s teams and we don’t hold trials; anyone who makes the effort to come to training regularly will be picked for matches. This gives you the opportunity to play Gaelic regularly in a regional BUCS league, attend the national championship, and attend our social events…all whilst being one of the cheapest sports clubs!
