POLO & POLOCROSSE
The University of Birmingham Polo and Polocrosse Club is a unique and rewarding sport offered to all UoB students. With a mixture of either hockey or lacrosse on horseback, polo and polocrosse are guaranteed to be interesting and exciting sports to pick up, and what better time to try than at university?
We train weekly at Rugby Polo Club, often on a Wednesday afternoon but other times and days can be arranged to suit your needs and timetable. For beginners, riding boots and hats can be sourced – riders with their own gear are encouraged to bring them along. Polo ponies are provided. With three other universities training at Rugby, we are also able to play friendly chukkas each term!
The club was founded in 2008, and from its humble beginnings, it has grown into one of the largest and most competitive university clubs in the country. In 2018, the University of Birmingham founded the University Polo League, which enables Universities across the country to have competitive chukkas more regularly. We look forward to competing against other universities and teams, and hope to see you at tasters this September!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out on social media with any questions, or for further information!
