MoveWell
We operate a concussion clinic out of MoveWell over on the 2nd floor of the Gisbert Kapp Building. This is being led by clinicians – Dan and Jude, physiotherapists who are experienced in supporting those who have sustained a concussion back to sport safely.
UBSport advise that anyone who suffers a suspected concussion must attend this clinic to be assessed. This follows the UK government guidelines. For anyone who has a concussion confirmed, the return to competition is a minimum of 21 days. If the player is not concussed they will be cleared to return to training and competition. In all cases, notification will come from the clinic confirming the outcome of the assessment and any follow ups.Â
All players who have sustained a concussion will follow the graduated return to activity (study/work) and sport. They will be advised on what they should and shouldn’t be doing at the different stages and supported through this.Â
