If you are interested in recreational basketball, we offer weekly social basketball sessions as part of our Social Sport programme. Sessions will either be coached by a qualified coach, or ‘just play’.

Campus League

Campus League Basketball is open to all staff and students where you can participate in regular social sport leagues and one-off tournaments throughout the academic year. You can enter as part of your existing departmental team, society, halls or simply just as a group of friends.

STUDENT CLUB

The University of Birmingham Women’s Basketball Club is a highly unified club which welcomes new players of all abilities. Many of the players within the Women’s Basketball club are first time basketball players, and this creates an open and friendly environment for people of all abilities. The club is welcoming of all people and caters to students from all backgrounds, this is reflected in our winning the Pride Award at the University of Birmingham Sports Awards in June 2019.

The Women’s top two teams play in BUCS and the Women’s 3rd team compete in the University’s Campus League, and have previously won Campus League Team of the Year. We have delivered incredible results, both in the BUCS competition and in the promotion of Women’s Basketball around the University.

Aside from the competitive aspect of the sport, the club is extremely social and holds weekly socials events. These socials allow players from all three teams to get to know one another and will be sure to change your university experience.
