Campus 3K celebration run
More than 700 students and staff laced up, dressed up and showed up for this year’s 3K Your Way – and what a way to celebrate! Held as part of the vibrant UoB Xtra week, the event brought joyful chaos to campus with runners, walkers, skippers, stilters, and even a few glamorous drag queens all making their way around the 3K route in their own unique style. From fancy dress to club colours, the spirit of individuality and community was out in full force.

Big energy at the starting line

A huge thank you to Rory and Bold Joe for bringing the vibes and kicking things off with energy, humour and heart. Their stage presence — combined with a fun group warm-up — got everyone buzzing before the 3K began. Want to support a great cause? Milestone moments and meaningful finishes
Among hundreds of wonderful moments on the day, one highlight was Tara Nelson from the Club Development team finishing in 125th place – a brilliant nod to the University’s 125th anniversary. Proof that every position, every pace and every person mattered on the day.

Doing it your way
What made this event so special wasn’t the competition – it was the creativity, the courage, and the camaraderie. Whether you were chasing a PB, pushing a pram, skipping in drag or just soaking up the sunshine, 3K Your Way reminded us that movement should be joyful, inclusive and 100% on your terms.

Thank you and see you next year
To everyone who took part, volunteered, supported or just came along for the atmosphere — thank you. You made this celebration one to remember. Let’s keep that energy going as we continue to celebrate 125 years of the University of Birmingham.
